After Media smoke clears Israel won

Who won the Hezbollah Israeli war? Israel did according to Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, secretary-general of the Lebanese branch of Hezbollah explains Amir Taheri in his New York Post piece. (Click on above title.)

Nasrallah originally claimed a "Great Strategic Divine Victory" but after reality has set in he lamented in a TV interview in Beirut Sunday that, "The party leadership never expected a response on such an unprecedented scale and volume [by Israel]," he said. "Had we known that what we did would lead to this, we would certainly not have embarked upon it."

Interesting. What happened to the victory lap that MSM reported Hezbollah should take for just surviving Israel’s superior army? Cancelled when reality set in once again, Hezbollah lost 500 of its elite fighting force and their families want to know why.

Hezbollah lost most of its medium-range missiles without inflicting any serious damage on Israel. Almost all of Hezbollah's missile launching pads (often placed in mosques, schools and residential buildings) south of the Litani River have been dismantled.

And here’s something of note, the millions of dollars of Tehran money that Nasrallah as been attempting to dole out is seen as diyah (blood money) by the family members of martyrs. Taking such money would make them hypocrites. And a dead man whose family receives a diyah cannot claim the status of "martyr" (no 72 virgins) and enjoy its prerogatives in paradise.

Oh and the pro-Hezbollah euphoria created by Western media and beamed back to Lebanon through satellite TV is evaporating.

When faced with reality MSM and Hezbollah are faced with the unsettling facts that Israel won the war. Holy 2000 and 2004 presidential election results!
